whoami?
Hi everyone! I’m 0wulf. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and I’m currently finishing my formal degree in Computer Science and Engineering. I’m just getting started with my professional career, with a strong passion for embedded systems, IoT, open source technologies, and software development (always with a touch of hardware).
Where am I based?
I’m based in Santiago, Chile.
When did I start using Ubuntu?
I first used Ubuntu back in middle school when my computer could no longer handle Windows 10 (Lubuntu gave it a second life :D). I started using it more seriously in my first year of university, around 2020, when I finally moved away from Windows for most things. These days, I mainly work with Ubuntu Server in headless setups for IoT and backend projects, while using another Linux distribution on my main workstation has helped me gather knowledge on Linux internals more quickly.
What do I want to do?
I recently applied for a graduate position at Canonical and was encouraged to get involved with the community. I’m interested in learning from others, sharing ideas, and eventually contributing in areas like documentation, or development related to IoT and embedded Ubuntu use cases.
How can you help me get started?
I’m currently exploring the best practices for building local-first IoT platforms using Ubuntu on SBCs. I’m opening a discussion thread on that topic and would love to hear your thoughts. If there are any key projects, resources, or community groups around embedded Ubuntu, I’d be excited to join and learn more.
