Hello @ferdeb, So I tried to find your profile and Ubuntu Tabasco on launchpad. And also Ubuntu Mexico.

https://launchpad.net/~ferdeb

For you and Ubuntu Tabasco, Looks like you just signed up for launchpad and also same for the Ubuntu Tabasco. I would say it would be difficult to just setup a category for you and your team without knowing your team’s past works, planned activities and who are in the team.

If you have done any activities and also have some plans, plus if there are some other folks involved with your team, would you like to share some?

If you have shared your previous activities and photos in other places. Then i think you can share some descriptions along with links to photos and other links that LoCo Council folks can have a look.

Just speaking as a general Discourse moderator, we don’t have the ability (yet) to create sub-subcategories. Meaning Ubuntu Local Communities > Ubuntu Mexico > Ubuntu Tabasco cannot exist in that design yet.

Once we have abilities to have sub-subcategories, that can change, but my recommendation for now is to have both Ubuntu Mexico and Ubuntu Tabasco as subcategories under Ubuntu Local Communities until that can be changed.

So how can I create or ask to create the Ubuntu Mexico community? We already have meetups done but we want to be supported by a bigger community like LoCo.

Before creating it, first thing would be checking if it already exists. then contacting them to discuss.

So I have searched for it, then found Launchpad team for Ubuntu Mexico

While it doesn’t have any member set as admin, I see there is a ubuntu-mx-council that’s been invited Feburary of this year. But still not part of ubuntu-mx team.

And also found that these 2 folks are currently admin of ubuntu-mx mailing list. So perhaps we can also contact them if are current leaders.

@naudyvu Is see you are part of Mexican LoCo on launchpad. Do you know any folks who’ve been leading Mexican LoCo?

Hello @sukso96100 , I contacted the Ubuntu-mx mailing list several months ago but received no response. A friend informed me that the team is currently inactive due to internal problems affecting many of its members, hindering any efforts to reorganize it.

This is a situation where the LoCo council would step-in and rectify had they known. As @sukso96100 is part of that, I’m sure he can figure this out internally. Patience is required.

Thank you for the information  Looks like I’ll need to know what kind of internal problems they have then consider handing over their leadership.

If you don’t mind, could you ask your friend for some more informations? I will try to contact some ubuntu-mx folks who seems to be leading their LoCo in past.

I’ll talk to my friend to get more details about the internal issues going on within the team. As soon as I have the information, I’ll explain everything to you.
