I use Linux since June 1997 (SuSE), recently I installed Ubuntu 24.10 to translate qtrans to Qt6/KF6. I also have translated qdvdauthor to Qt6, both available at sf.net as qdvd and qtrans0. I like to use Ubuntu because of its five years support.
