Hello Ubuntu community! My name is David, but you can call me Dave for short if you so please 
I am currently located in Egypt 
, but spent my entire life growing up in Canada 
. Mentally though, I’d like to believe that I spend most of my time in a state of wonder, curiosity, and learning. This is usually done through talking to interesting people or seeing what the world is up to through social media.
I’m actually brand new to Ubuntu, and I’m hoping that I get to learn a lot more about Linux and open-source operating systems in general so please help me out with any cool facts, tips or tricks to get into it! I do love the meaning of the word Ubuntu though, stemming from the South African ethic meaning “I am because we are” - what a beautiful adage that encapsulates the true meaning of open-source.
I found out about Ubuntu through applying for the Talent Scientist role at Canonical, the parent company. My interest piqued when I discovered there’s a whole community of people helping each other out and talking about the project, things they’re working on, art they’ve made, and just connecting with each other. I hope that getting involved in the community will give me an insight into how people interact with the project and each other, and regardless of whether or not I get the job at least I’ll have gained a cool new community to talk to.
I feel like I’ve ranted enough for one post, but please don’t hesitate to stop by and introduce yourself, I’d love to get to know the cool people that contribute to making this community and hopefully learn a thing or two on the way!
