guvcview is a great application to manage the webcam with many options but it has been removed from the repository in exchange for the terrible snapshot/camera
This application was removed from Debian testing due to failing to build with ffmpeg 7.
I see there has been a release year 2.1.0. If I get time in the coming weeks I may have a look at it.

This is now resolved and merged into Ubuntu Oracular.
