I have configured my system to utilize a password for GRUB using grub-mkpasswd-pbkdf2, configuring the username and password in etc/grub.d/40_custom, and setting GRUB with sudo update-grub2 . The problem I am experiencing is that the display will not activate until after I enter the username and password. Once the username and password are entered it boots to the encryption passphrase and everything works as intended.
Is there another configuration I need to adjust in order to activate the display before the username prompt?
I am running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with GRUB version 2.02-2ubuntu8.1.
