Gnome-console or gnome-terminal?

GNOME is swapping out gnome-terminal for gnome-console (formerly kgx) as the new default core app: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-build-meta/-/issues/457

Will Ubuntu follow suit and file a MIR? Or stick to “terminal” for now?

Can we have a current snapshot from master packaged in universe to test it and make up our minds?

(Kgx 0.2 doesn’t reflect its current state at all).

Note that VTE remains to be the terminal emulator involved in the background and the bash stays the default shell of course. Thus the differences are just the most front facing things like tabs behaviour, preferences and so on whose widgets are less crusty.
