GNOME 40 touchpad gestures

Hi,

I’ve just moved to 21.10 dev with gnome 40.
Well, it does already run well.

I find rather difficult to raise/hide overview with 3 fingers up/down gesture. Do some of you experience that?

On my install of the 21.10 beta, all gestures seem to have been disabled. Maybe this has something to do with my Nvidia 470 driver which currently (still) forces xorg instead of wayland…

If you’re having trouble with touchpad gestures then that should probably be reported to the developers here. Although probably only if you’re using Wayland already.

If you’re using the Nvidia driver and your concern is just the lack of Wayland support then try editing /etc/default/grub and add:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nvidia-drm.modeset=1"

Then run:

sudo update-grub

and reboot. The issue is being tracked in https://launchpad.net/bugs/1946200
