if i launch epiphany-browser from the show applications menu layout it opens only one window, as in one instance of the browser just like it should.
but if i launch epiphany-browser from the dock it opens two windows, as in two instances of the browser.
this occurs only with epiphany-browser & none of the other items in the dock.
did a fresh install of 20.04 to confirm the bug & i can surely concur that when launched from the dock epiphany-browser open 2 windows every time instead of one.
I am not sure whether this fits in here. Gnome Ubuntu has an issue since 18.04. While typing, keyboard freezes for a minute or two. Making office work almost impossible. Luckily, it will unfreeze on its own after 2 minutes. We have a bug report on it
But the Ubuntu is still not typing ready across 18.04 to 20.04. And this is some Gnome fault from the looks of it. Considering the keyboard freeze came to 20.04 as well, I am now using Kubuntu so that I can type like forums in here, my documents, my email and so on.
It is one the fossa woes I am facing. I really hope that bug will come across a knight who will do justice. Until then, taking refuge in other DEs.
sure it does fit in here dilip, i started this thread with the intention of having all issues related to the fossa desktop summed up in one place.
sad that you had to abandon gnome but am pretty sure your issues will be solved soon & you can then bounce back to gnome
all was good with 20.04.1 until i decided to change the location of the download server in software & updates from server for united states to main server.
after clicking on reload a smaller window pops up with the title Refreshing software cache
once the horizontal bar has loaded all the way to the right the app freezes & remains frozen for over an hour. i have to force close the app & this messes up the sources.list i think, because after that when i check for updates i get the error message Failed to download repository information
can someone be kind enough to confirm if they face the same glitch when changing the download server?
