Firmware upgrade for Mediatek MT7922 Wifi chip

Ubuntu Version: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

Desktop Environment (if applicable): Gnome

Problem Description:
Hallo,

I’m using a laptop based on AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 7840U w/ Radeon™ 780M Graphics × 16.

My question is about the shipped firmware version for the embedded wifi chip:

  *-network

The shipped firmware is outdated and it still has some bugs, mostly poor performance throughput even with strong signal strength.

The latest linux firmware seems to fix lots of issues like mine. When can I expect Ubuntu to release an updated firmware package that contains the latest firmware version for this chip?

Of course the latest firmware blob has been released here:

Thanks,

Simone
