My files program is doing strange things. When I double click on ‘files’ it normally come up with places. When I do it now actually nothing comes up. On second try it cleverly took out my ability to write this. I had to remove firefox then I had to figure out how to remove firefox from my screen as it didn’t do that one. Just blew again. Turned firefox off, which, again, did not remove it from the display. The only way to get rid of it was to shut down ‘Files’.
You don’t need ‘double click’ to open Files from the icon on the dock, single click is enough.
You don’t need remove Firefox from your screen.
put the mouse on the dock and rotate the mouse wheel to open a new empty workspace, then you can use the wheel to move between workspaces.
Thank you for the reply. I am using ubuntu dock (extension) There is a wheel at the end bit it just gets “Show Apps”. Its very strange. I have found that when stuff goes bezerk the solution is to restart the entire machine. Right now, for instance, I can goto files and it comes up, tells me what files exist, what is plugged in, etc. and I can do stuff. I currently have firefox, thunderbird, and files up. I also have text editor (good for saving and writing down stuff, etc) and the Extension manager. I also have open two sticks and two hard drives. Everything is, currently, dandy. I think I will mark this one as I have figured our how to deal with it.
