Excited to Join Ubuntu Community – Junior Engineer Here

Hi everyone,

I’m Shahin Akbari, a junior cloud engineer with a background in software development and infrastructure administration. I recently applied for the Junior Cloud Field Engineer position at Canonical and I’m excited to join this vibrant open-source community!

My main focus has been on:

  • Azure infrastructure (certified AZ-104)

  • Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Bicep

  • CI/CD using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps

  • Containerization with Docker & AKS
Currently learning Python and exploring cloud-native tools and GitOps practices.

I’m passionate about automation, DevSecOps, and contributing to open-source solutions. Looking forward to learning from you all, sharing knowledge, and eventually giving back to the Ubuntu ecosystem.

If you have any tips, beginner-friendly projects, or places to get involved, I’d love your guidance!

Thanks :raised_hands:

Hello @shahinakbari!

Be warned, Ubuntu (and Debian) are something that you can never truly abandon. Even using Arch did not get it off me.
