Does anybody have a canon pixma mg2522 working?

running with ubuntu 24.04

I have a canon pixma mg2522 and am trying to set it up. The problem is the driver. I have spent a long time trying to figure this one up. I have found a couple of places that said they had one working but that failed. This is a fairly old printer and I am running with a newer system which may be my problem. Its also been suggested that cups might be the answer but I don’t understand.

Thoughts?

I don’t know if it helps, but I have a Canon PIXMA MX922 that works pretty well as it runs driverless and is automatically detected by every computer with every operating system I have. It’s about 8 years old, and I’m surprised it has lasted this long!

If yours is older, you might consider upgrading to something more modern that can run driverlessly.

Thank you for the response. I already have this machine so I am trying to make it work. I have an hp envy photo 6252 that my wife had problems with which I have never been able to make run. I installed a bunch of stuff but just failed.
