I had an extended weekend last week - here’s my update for the last fourteen days:

Installer

• Inhibit disruptive events during installation
• Visual improvements of the page indicator
• Show syslog events for failed automatic installations
• Disable ‘Advanced Features’ button for manual install
• Collect Active Directory telemetry
• Helped implement a few last-minute design improvements (#1632, #1638, #1641, #1622)
• Fancy new screenshot
• Mount point validation

Yaru*

• Improved high contrast design (yaru.dart: #319, #326, #327, yaru_widgets.dart: #682)
• Fixed empty MD/Navigation page

• Lots of bug triage and user support in Launchpad and upstreams. Backlog stats are here.
• Internal: Helped with two different partner projects this week.
• Lunar ISO testing.
• Fixed a RISC-V crash on gnome-shell start-up.
• Fixed the multi-monitor screen freeze that started in mutter 44.rc. Also found evidence an i915 kernel bug is triggering this and other mutter resume-from-sleep issues.
• Tried and so far failed to fix the accountsservice memory corruption still plaguing gnome-shell. It’s just recently become fatal and prevalent in 23.04.
• Continued investigating the Intel graphics performance regression in lunar. I’m now hoping it only affects some Alder Lake chips.
• Triple buffering for GNOME 44:
  • Spent a day investigating the Nvidia GPU power management regression but so far can’t reproduce a low power state with any configuration.
  • Delivered the first real release candidate patch for Debian/Ubuntu.

• Worked on BitLocker and RST
• Updated page titles
• Automatically updated screenshots
• Fixed inconsistent disk and partition formatting

Yaru

• Added test helpers for top-level windows
• Synced accent colors with ubuntu/yaru

Other

• Fixed flutter-snap to pass the CI

• Sponsored Daniel’s work to re-enable the triple buffering patch for Ubuntu 23.04

• reviewed and sponsored an update-notifier autopkgtest fix
• landed the software-properties and ubuntu pro integration work from Nathan to Lunar
• update gnome-boxes to the new stable version
• debug gvfs autopkgtests failing with the new glib, reported upstream and helped verifying the fix
• reviewed and uploaded a fix from Nathan for a software-properties exception error in focal
• update the thunderbird deb to 102.9.0 in the different stable Ubuntu series
• sponsored an alsa-ucm-conf fix for micmute led status on AMD ACP DMIC from the oem team (L/K/J)
• sponsored a tiff merge from Nathan including CVE fixes
• promoted libcupsfilters/cups-browserd/libppd to main since the MIR were approved now
