I was travelling for most of May so just have a few notes of Ubuntu things that happened…
Lots of bug triage and user support in Launchpad and upstreams (fully caught up from the weeks off). Backlog stats are here.
Triple buffering:
- Fixed new test failures caused by my recent attempt to fix a VRR bug.
- Started the maintenance branch for GNOME 46.
- Squashed and tidied up recent fixes, removed all TODOs and removed “Draft” status.
Produced a new patch for the webkit2gtk Raspberry Pi bugs.
Bisecting and debugging some Nvidia-470 regressions in Mutter: #3464 and #3465.
The fix for software cursors being used on some graphics drivers landed upstream in mutter 46.2.
Figured out the cause of the 22.04-to-24.04 dist upgrade failure. A systemd fix is on the way.
Trying and failing to reproduce the Xorg fullscreen performance regression. Although I could reproduce it at home, I failed to get similar results while travelling.
Planning for Ubuntu 24.10.

Hi Daniel, if gnome 46.1 introduces new functionality rendering it ineligible to be a SRU update by default (https://www.phoronix.com/news/GNOME-MRE-Over-Mutter-Shell) what is the path to gnome updates for 24.04?

46.1 will just take more time and effort than it otherwise would. Actually it might be 46.2 since that tag exists now. I will be working out a plan for it in June.
