• Back from vacation again and worked through the backlog of bug reports/discussions in Launchpad, Gitlab and Github.
• Reviewing and merging merge requests in Mutter Salsa.
• Audited priority gnome-shell crashes again and found only these are missing:
  • Bug 2093237 in 24.04
  • Bug 2063341 in 22.04
• Triple buffering for GNOME 48:
  • Refactored to fix a complaint about the order of commits.
  • Completed a major refactoring to resolve conflicts from the introduction of timing and queuing protocols in Mutter 48.

• Packaged gimp 3 RC 2 which is now available in Ubuntu 25.04 and Debian Testing
• Packaged pango 1.56. Verifying that autopkgtests pass in Experimental before pushing to Unstable and Ubuntu.
• Sponsored Alessandro’s gobject-introspection fix to improve how dh_girepository treats version numbers, allowing to drop our libgudev delta compared to Debian.
   
• Ported the patches smcv collected for mozjs128 to mozjs115 to fix the failure to build with Python 3.13.
• Cherry-picked a poppler security fix for Debian Unstable and Ubuntu 25.04
• Cherry-picked a harfbuzz security fix for Debian Unstable and Ubuntu 25.04
• Miscellaneous other packaging updates

Other news

The Decibels apps has been added by GNOME to GNOME Core for GNOME 48. Decibels is an audio player app. However, it is a TypeScript app and packaging its dependency chain will be a large project. Therefore, I wouldn’t expect to see a Debian/Ubuntu package for it soon.

The GNOME Photos app was reintroduced to Debian and Ubuntu after a test case that failed with newer versions of gegl was disabled.
