I don’t know if it’s possible in the current state (e.g. with some extensions) or it’s needed to write from scratch in order to transform the desktop to something like SailfishOS home. In some aspects, it’s similar to GNOME activies but right on the desktop with more quick actions, functions and informations. According to my personal experience with SailfishOS, I believe, it will be so nice and practical.
It can:
- be shown when switching applications using Alt+Tab;
- contain a quick access bar on the left/bottom for favorite apps;
- be a swipe to the right/left/both away from the app launchers (Dash);
- be accessible with an edge swipe on touch devices.
