Proposal: Ubuntu Flavors Design Squad

In last Ubuntu Summit, I mentioned the idea for a potential Flavors design squad (thanks to @kewisch for the excellent name suggestion). As promised (very belatedly) Here is a summary of the proposal. Why: most flavors have occasional need of designers but often it is not a consistently required amount of work. So most of us either have 1 person or nobody dedicated to it. Sometimes even if the flavor has a designer, they might need somebody with a different focus. For example brand design vs…

What we need to this come alive is a listing of issues / requirements. GitHub issues or similar where the UI and UX are decent. Instead of chasing people, contributors can check issues and pick where they can contribute.

I would say, be a bit kind to people who are enthusiastic and submit not so high quality input. I have seen some people in the open source world going hard and show minimal professionalism to sub par contributions and difference in opinions.

goal is to have both. actively chasing people for more specialized expertise, and having a list of items to contribute to with communication line for those who are not familiar with the processes.
