- What to do with Ubuntu Forum Members who received their Ubuntu Membership through the Ubuntu forums since the Ubuntu Forums have transitioned to Ubuntu Discourse? Merge them completely with regular Ubuntu Members?
- (@Wild_Man) suggested emailing Ubuntu Forum Members of the merge before it happens, then doing it.
- (@arraybolt3) approved of the merger but recommended the Ubuntu Membership Board should make the final call.
- (@Wild_Man) is going to ping the Ubuntu Membership Board and get quorum on the merger, if it is approved then Ubuntu Forum Members will be grandfathered into the standard Ubuntu Membership.
- (@Wild_Man) asked if removal of the forums Launchpad pages is possible?
- (@aaronprisk) the Communication Council can put in an official community IS request to have the Launchpad pages shutdown/removed.

- (@aaronprisk) what to do with the mailinglists due to high volume of spam? Can we start a plan to phase out less-used mailinglists? Was there a discussion between @ian-weisser and (@rbasak) on this matter?
- (@ian-weisser) no virtual tour of Ubuntu Discourse set yet to determine the feasibility of moving most of the mailing lists to Ubuntu Discourse because its a busy time due to the current release cycle being pushed out, so patience is required… (@ian-weisser) and (@rbasak) will follow up.
- (@arraybolt3) discussion about getting mailing-list-like behavior from Launchpad? (replacing some LoCo lists, for example)
- @arraybolt3) suggested to avoid sending announcements to some lists to avoid mass email unsubscribe responses.
- (@ian-weisser) suggested to start with a small group of mailinglists to work out any workflow issues.
- (@aaronprisk) what are the next steps to wind down other platform-specific councils? Documentation changes? Is there a handover needed?
- (@sarnold) no current plans to wind down IRC Council yet. Future discussions will be forthcoming.
- Translation / Localisation coordination
- (@aaronprisk) should the Communication Council / Community Council set some procedures around the localisation community within Ubuntu. Improve documentation / contributions?
- (@aaronprisk and @ilvipero) suggest working with the LoCo Councils on using translation contributions as a great way to spark interest and activity for LoCo teams.
- (@ilvipero) establish a temporary Translation Council / Board to help determine the state of our current localistation and offer some guidelines for improvment
- (@arraybolt3) Community Council can publish a Discourse post asking for input from the community. Call to Action (@ilvipero) is working with Canonical Platform Engineering to gather Matrix statistics and will share with the Communications Council.
