Cloud Image Deprecation Policy

As the leading cloud operating system, Ubuntu is built with security always in mind and continues to improve the security offerings with each new release.

As releases reach end-of-life, the corresponding cloud images are removed from our official Ubuntu Cloud Images site. These releases are no longer supported and are not receiving any security updates. Canonical will also remove end-of-life images that we published to cloud partner platforms. For a full list of releases and current support states, please see the Ubuntu Releases wiki page.

What is the case with the Ubuntu 12.04 cloud image?
It can be found at

$ lxc image list ubuntu:12.04
