I am currently running Ubuntu Studio 24.10, and cannot upgrade to version 25.10.
When I selected the “Upgrade Available” message icon in the panel, a window popped up stating “Upgrade failed with the following output:”, but there were no details listed. The rest of the window was completely empty.
I then attempted to upgrade by running the command: sudo do-release-upgrade. It gave the response: “Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading”. However, when I checked for updates using the Discover tool, none were listed. I then opened Synaptic and checked for both available updates, and broken packages, but again, none were listed.
Has anyone else run into this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Running the command: sudo apt list --upgradable showed that there was a newer version of libcanberra-pulse available than the one I had installed. I was able to upgrade it using Synaptic, then the “Upgrade Available” icon in the panel worked as per normal. I do not know why the upgrade for libcannberra-pulse wasn’t listed when I checked for updates using Discover and Synaptic, but all appears to be OK now.
