Can't seem to permanently set alternate inxi color

Ubuntu Version:
22.04.5 LTS

Desktop Environment XFCE

Problem Description:
In my xfce4-terminal preferences, I use Xubuntu Dark which gives a dark background with light colors for characters; however, when I run inxi all of the headings are sort of dark blue - makes it had to read.
What I would like to have for permanent inxi colors can be seen with
inxi -c 26
which gives bright green topics and bright yellow information - it makes it easier to read on a dark background

**What I've Tried**:
One can modify ~/.config/inxi.conf to permanently change the colors, but it doesn't work for me. These are my edits -
```hugh@b450m:~$ cat  .config/inxi.conf
#Reassigns colors permanently for inxi
26 ```
inxi.conf was initially an empty file!
If you do
inxi -c 18
you can add the following to ~/.config/inxi.conf
DEFAULT_COLOR_SCHEME=18
Works for me.
See the manpage, specifically Color Options under Configuration Options.
P.S. If you put anything in between <!-- and --> it will be taken as a comment and not be shown in your post.
Yes, thank you. I am just now learning how to use the template.
I added
DEFAULT_COLOR_SCHEME=26
to my ~/.config/inxi.conf
but it did not seem to work.
I spun off another terminal, but that did not work either.
Does it require a reboot?
I need to figure out how to get screenshots uploaded consistently also.
