Cannot unlock default desktop image

Hi!

I booted a VM using lxc launch --console=vga images:ubuntu/24.04/desktop --vm -c limits.cpu=4 -c limits.memory=4GiB. It was working, but I left it a while and it seems to have locked itself. Now I cannot unlock it.

Are there known credentials embedded into the image, or perhaps there is a bug in image generation that allows locking without having set credentials?

Thanks for letting us know about this.

@dinmusic do you know if there are default credentials for the ubuntu desktop images.

If not @rbasak would you mind opening an issue here Issues · canonical/lxd · GitHub to track this.

Thanks

I’m not aware of the default credentials. I’ll check that out and report back.

@rbasak I would kindly ask if an issue can be opened. Thanks

Done: Desktop image cannot be unlocked · Issue #13773 · canonical/lxd · GitHub
