Cannot install Ubuntu 22.04.5 on RTX5070ti computer

Ubuntu Version:

22.04.5 LTS

Problem Description:

I tried to install Ubuntu 22.04.5 from a USB drive, but once I select try or install ubuntu, my screen went black and nothing happened (not shutting down, CPU fan spinning but no display output). Installation worked fine before with my old RTX 3070ti. Only thing changed is that I swapped to RTX 5070ti.

Relevant System Information:

CPU: Ryzen 7800x3d
Chipset: AMD B650E
Memory: 96GB DDR5
GPU: RTX 5070ti
Disk: 1TB SSD space for ubuntu, 3TB for windows 11 (try to dual-boot)

What I’ve Tried:

  1. add nomodeset after quiet splash in Grub
Stuck at booting a command list
  2. add nomodeset and acpi=off
Entered the installation but failed with unable to install grub in /dev/nvme0n1
  3. allocate seperate 200MB space for grub
Still unable to install grub in /dev/nvme0n1xxx (forget exact string)

One thing more, I disabled integrated GPU because it causes bugs in my WSL2.

I find an article about the problem, but it doesn’t work for me.

For now, I just installed ubuntu server and run sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop
Don’t think this is a solution, the ISO image of ubuntu 22.04 desktop needs an update.
