Call for testing: ubuntu-frame

Following the roll-back of Ubuntu Frame last week, we’re re-releasing a version with a workaround for the problem discovered in client snaps:

The following snap has been updated to the latest Mir release (2.12.1):

snap version notes
ubuntu-frame 98-mir2.12.1

To test, just switch to the candidate channel. For example:

snap refresh --candidate ubuntu-frame

And use as normal. Please let us know any results here.

You could also switch to the 20 track, which will remain base: core20 for long-term support:

snap refresh --channel 20/candidate ubuntu-frame

If no problems are identified we aim to promote to stable in a week.

There’s a problem with OSK placement: it appears at the top of the output. And a fix:

We have tested our old snap and new snaps after the fix with candidate 98-mir2.12.1 /beta 98-mir2.13.0/edge 98-mir2.13.0+dev16 version and it seems to work ok with no issues connecting video.
