Call for fixing our summit lectern with 3D printing

Pedro speaking, directly from the London office here. Our lectern — the thing that holds the clicker and speaker’s laptop during presentations — doesn’t have a single horizontal surface to hold a glass of water! Outrageous!

Is there a 3D-modelling guru around who’d like to take a shot at designing a holder for it? Something super simple — maybe even just a wedge that can hold a 7 cm diameter glass. I’ve got double-sided tape on hand, so no need to design anything fancy to keep it in place; I can help you with that part. The holder would rest similarly to where the cup is resting on the photo.

I can pop by to a 3D printing shop next door and get it asap. Feel free to put the Ubuntu logo or one of the mascots in the model

Cheers!

EDIT: I posted the models here, let me know if you would like to be credited differently.

Well, I have to say that mine is better, because it can double as an ice scrapper for the windshield

I’ll be honest I thought 19 degrees of inclination was a bit steep but I’m glad it worked! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hmm… did you forget to remove the printing supports? Or did you put something between the glass and the piece?
