C++ code::blocks vs kdevelop

Hello everybody!

FIrst of all I'm thankfully for your effort on development ofGNU and ubuntu,

my name is José and I’m studyng the degrees of physics and computer
science simultaneously, I’m an Ipython user and I have wrote some C++ code
for the use of others.

Second, I have only a couple weeks of experience with ubuntu and I'm looking

for a good IDE to code C++, I have started with Kdevelop 5.2.1, but I receive
strange but valid values for watch on variables in the debugger mode but it
yields the correct result, then I withdraw to code::blocks, but my C++ books
recommends me Kdevelop…What IDE are you using to edit C++ code?
can you recommend an IDE for a Linux newbie?
What ere the good C++ practices on the open source community?

Thanks a lot for your time, and thanks for doing all of these possible, with my best wishes

José

I’ve moved this to the https://community.ubuntu.com/c/support-help-requests category because this site isn’t designed to take tech support questions. Sorry. I’d recommend using one of the official support channels listed on the https://community.ubuntu.com/t/finding-help/712 page.

Honestly, the best IDE is the one you are comfortable using.
Asking folks here (who mostly are not newbies) will get you a bunch of 10-year-old recommendations, probably not too helpful.
