At work we are undergoing a huge change in the IT department and while I have been with the company for almost 20 years (started with the company August 2005, joined the Ubuntu Forums October 2005 … coincidence? ) it was mostly in a developer capacity.
I have been the primary Linux person in the department, but with recent changes I have a level of freedom I never had before, and opportunities since my former boss “retired”.
So I will probably be lurking here more with questions and asking for suggestions regarding managing Ubuntu serves (and really, any server) in an enterprise environment.
Do you have any “lessons learned”, “best practices” or know of good resources for somebody who doesn’t want to be known as the one that accidentally destroyed the server!
