Android apps in Ubuntu By default

It will be very nice if you could execute Android apps by default (without installing additional software) and have a play-store application(integrated into Ubuntu) to manage them… Or not?

Indeed , this could be a killer feature and gnu/linux would have the best performance on this thanks to native linux kernel.

The best project for now to achieve this is Waydroid https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid

But it’s too short to include it in 22.04 , so the target could be for 24.04 For the 20 years \o/

Not if it could be packaged as a Snap :grinning:

The project to look out for is Anbox, which actually has commercial backing behind it as well. So I would put my bet on that instead.
