The Anbox Cloud images on AWS are affected by the recent Ubuntu kernel upgrade to 6.8.
Impact:
This issue causes your Anbox Cloud deployment to crash when you launch an instance and could also potentially affect deployments on other clouds as well. It affects both AMD64 and ARM64 architectures.
It affects only the Ubuntu 22.04 images with the 6.8.0-1015-aws #16~22.04.5-Ubuntu kernel and not the Ubuntu 24.04 images.
Resolution:
We are currently working with the Canonical Public Cloud team to roll back the marketplace listing to a working version.
Until this issue is diagnosed and fixed for the kernel version 6.8, you can continue using your Anbox Cloud deployments by disabling the kernel upgrade.
If your deployment is already affected, you can downgrade your kernel version to 6.5.
