Indeed we are missing most of the desktop icons settings in the Settings app.

To see all the settings you will need to:

  1. sudo apt install gnome-shell-extension-prefs

  2. Open the Extensions app.

  3. Click on Desktop Icons NG (DING) > Settings

Alternatively just run:

gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.ding show-trash false
gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.ding show-trash true
