In Ubuntu 22.04 I see that you can arrange icons by type as Home/Drive/Trash. But there is no option to show Thrash on the Desktop. Am I missing something?

Indeed we are missing most of the desktop icons settings in the Settings app.
To see all the settings you will need to:

sudo apt install gnome-shell-extension-prefs -
Open the Extensions app.

Click on Desktop Icons NG (DING) > Settings
Alternatively just run:
gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.ding show-trash false
gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.ding show-trash true

Thank you for that information. I was a bit confused as the right click menu mention Trash and yet I didn’t find any way to add the Trash icon to my desktop.
