Advantage-tools (pro) 20.04 assistance needed

Trying to get ubuntu-advantage-tools or the ubuntu-pro-client to work under 20.04. I’m sure something has been overlooked, but I can’t find it.

My system:
lsb_release -crid
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Release: 20.04
Codename: focal

Currently installed:
apt policy ubuntu-advantage-tools
ubuntu-advantage-tools:
Installed: 20.3
Candidate: 20.3
Version table:
*** 20.3 500
500 Index of /ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I read where advantage has been renamed, so I also tried:
apt install ubuntu-pro-client
Reading package lists… Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information… Done
E: Unable to locate package ubuntu-pro-client

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is my first attempt at Pro.

This is also my first time using Discourse. Used to use the old system, but it has been awhile.

Thanks!

Open up Software & Updates (command software-properties-gtk) and in the far right tab you will see how to enable Ubuntu-Pro.
Come back and ask again if you have any problems.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Well… this device is actually a laptop with KDE. It does have software-properties-qt installed but there is nothing obvious about Pro in it.

But, this all made me go back and look again only to find I was looking for an executable with “Pro” in the name. With this old version of advantage-tools, the executable is ubuntu-advantage. With a soft link to ua. I knew the fix would be simple as I had looked right past it.

Machine is attached and updates available. And I got to learn a little about discourse. Thanks for the assist.
