Advanced power settings possible?

Hi,

I have a question to the power settings of Ubuntu 24.04 (Gnome).

I want to have the following:

  • If the power cable is not connected => Option Balanced should be taken
  • If the power cable is not connected + Battery level is 30 % or lower => Mode Energy saving should be taken
  • If the power cable is connected => Mode Maximum performance should be taken

Is it possible to set up this? If yes, how can I do it?

Thank you for your hints! :grinning:

fabi651 - Hello

Yeah, these “might” be possible - both Intel and AMD have drivers out for testing performance characteristics,
So, before going to look at what Micheal Larabel relates on the subject -
What video card do you have ?

-could be a hard row here to hoe, though-

Hi!

Thanks for your response. I use an integrated graphics: Intel HD Graphics 520 from a Core i5-6200U Processor.
So as I understand, I need this APX for the kernel? Is it available for Ubuntu yet?

There is a much easier way. You can try this extension:

Power Profile Switcher
