4K fractional scaling still an issue in 24.04?

Hello everyone,

I use XUbuntu for 10 years +/-, however 4k and fractional scaling never worked properly and I gave up in investing to a good 4k screen.

However, has anybody real life feedback of 4K screens && the current 24.04 LTS edition?

Are browsers, IDEs, CLIs etc. still out of shape or does work now?

I’ve tried on 24.10 and yes scaling is a bit problematic since Greybird xfwm theme doesn’t have any hidpi version. So changing the theme i haven’t got any problems but with 2x scaling. Unfortunately can’t test fractional scaling since my screen goes too small even with x1.75 scaling I can recomend you to use x2 scaling and smaller font scaling that’s better and you won’t see any blur.

Still an issue on Ubuntu 25.04.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Actually, I think I just found a solution/workaround. While fractional scaling doesn’t work with X11 Windowing System. It does work with Wayland.

So, switching to it and restarting the PC worked.
