I’m Rui Marques, an Engineering Manager at Canonical working in Foundations. My background is in C++, compiler technology, static analysis, LLVM, and high-performance computing, with previous work on tooling for performance and correctness analysis in large native codebases.

I’m interested in reliable low-level systems, developer tooling, open source, and building engineering teams that care about correctness, clarity, and long-term maintainability. Outside work, I enjoy long-distance running, including marathon training.
