I’m a systems analyst and full-time Kubuntu user.
Technically my first computer was a Commodore VIC 20, and I have some fond memories of learning to program in LOGO (anyone else remember the turtle?) at school around the fourth grade, but my life was forever changed when I got a Packard Bell Pentium 100 in 1994 and successfully upgraded it to Windows 95 a year later. I was a pretty happy camper from Windows 2000 up to Windows 7 when I’d finally had enough of using Microsoft products at work AND at home, so when Windows 10 was released I set course 180° and installed Kubuntu 15.04 “Vivid Vervet” on my home computer instead. I was pretty amazed at how robust and expansive the Linux ecosystem was right from the start and haven’t ever looked back.
