About me
I live in Virginia, US. I enjoy family, golf, chess, and of course Linux. I first became an Ubuntu user in 2018 and have been using Ubuntu Server & Desktop in both bare metal and virtualization environments, all for personal home lab and remote office. At first, I knew nothing about Linux but have grown quite a bit since then thanks to the Ubuntu community. Many around here have taught me, or showed me where to find the resources to learn. Thank you!
Summary of contributions to Ubuntu
My contributions are mostly providing forum support to users. Under the former Ubuntu Forums I had approx 400 support posts. I joined Ubuntu Discourse in November 2024, and since I have contributed a over 100 support posts here.
Lately, I have taken an interest in workig on the Canonical Open Documentation Academy, selecting issues that interest me and where there is a need for help. I am new at this but I am excited to have recently completed one project involving updating & creating link references within the Launchpad Manual, developers section. This project involved approx 150 changes, which have since been merged. I look forward to additional work in this space. Currently, I am eyeing helping to write some definitions for inclusion in the Glossary of the Ubuntu Server Documentation repository.

Goals
I plan to continue to support Ubuntu through work on documentation within my capabilities. I will continue to provide user support and encouragement on the Ubuntu Community Hub. I am also aspirational about learning to code with Python and want to build more skill in Bash scripting. Finally, learn to use IRC

EDIT: After some thought and a little more research & positive feedback, I am withdrawing my application at this time and look forward to further development and a potential run again in the future.
