With last updates all the icons on desktop are disappeared

With last updates all the icons on desktop are disappeared and the home folder does not reappear also if set in Settings > UbuntuDesktop > Show Home Folder.

I thought 26.04 was close enough to the official release, so I upgraded from 24.04. Plasma 6 is a total nightmare, IMHO. What you describe happens every time my display is turned off, either automatically by power-save, or manually.

Also, window size/position is totally broken, to the point where even changing a single window-specific criteria can cause all windows to be totally unusable unless they are resized. I think I will end up biting the bullet and reinstalling 24.04

I should have mentioned that you should keep an xterm open and, when losing icons and all, you can run:

systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service

You mention 26.04 but this category is for discussion of development releases, for example the upcoming 26.10.

Two options:

  1. I move your posts to their own topic
  2. You open your own topic in Support and Help and I then merge these posts
