Ubuntu Version :
22.04.04 LTS
Desktop Environment
GNOME
I need a daily alarm to be active on my desktop. According to other Ubuntu users, that can work in the background normally. However, for some reason I don’t understand, I need to open the alarm window before the scheduled time for that to happen. I’m using the default alarm, not installed any app. Am I missing something?
You may check in Ubuntu Settings → Notifications that:
Do not disturb is not enabled.
Apps “Clocks” and “Events and task reminders” are On.

Both dots checked and correctly set, so the issue must be somewhere else.
Have you tried adding it to Startup Applications so there is no need to manually open it each time?
Perhaps this might solve the issue.

Never done that. Can you please indicate how to do it?
Click on the icon in the lower left corner of the dash (also known as Show Apps) and you should see this.
Start typing start in the search box.
The first app you see should be Startup Applications
Click to open and this will appear (or similar)
Click on Add
In the Name field you can use GNOME clocks
In the Command field put gnome-clocks
Comment field can be left blank unless you want some custom text there.
Finally, click Add and now it should run automatically at startup.
Let me know how it goes.
