hi all,
as i am trying to delete files on ext hds, go as usual right clicking and…no delete option appears on the menu. All permissions are in check properly.
Any clue? Am on Ubuntu 23.10 Mantic.

We only can only help with supported versions of Ubuntu and flavours here.
Mantic was EOL in July 2024.
I urge you to backup and upgrade as soon as possible.
That said, we need more information than you have given.
How are the external HDDs formatted, what data is on there, have you tried deleting via the terminal?

You posted the exact same question at AskUbuntu an hour prior to this one. Your question was swiftly closed for the exact same reason mentioned above (EoL) but was also commented:
Check how you’ve mounted, and file-permissions (how mounted can overrule file-permissions ). File-systems involved can also play a part (external media is often using different file-systems to the internal Ubuntu system itself )
So…
- You should upgrade to a supported release (see above) ASAP for your own safety online;
- When asking - the above notwithstanding - provide relevant details. Namely, for this case, the actual filesystem of said external drive.
