Are updates working properly still on 25.10? My last update was 2025-10-06 21:32:53 , which seems like a long time, compared to the rate at which updates were coming in previously.
Thank you.
Stable Release Updates aren’t released on a Friday or the weekend. Any bug fixes will begin release on Monday.
Did not know that.
Is there a place or a link where we can see what those coming changes/fixes will be before then?
Thank you.
Can you please post an URL where I can see what updates will come for 25.04?
Thanks!
25.04: Pending Ubuntu SRUs
Only a couple updates have come through. I was expecting an avalanche of bug fixes. If I am reading it right, there are a lot of unfixed bugs still. Is that correct?
Fixing bugs take time and aren’t solved or released as fix in a day. They also need to test the bugfixes to make sure everything works fine.
I don’t know about the rest of the OS, but in Desktop we’ve made big strides in fixing everything before the release. So you shouldn’t expect to see many desktop updates in the pipeline. This is great news, but also good for us as we can immediately pivot to 26.04 work and the backlog of fixes for 24.04 etc.
You can also check The Questing-changes October 2025 Archive by date
Though things from “proposed” are not available for a week or so.
Updates to 25.10 are coming but the ones I’ve seen recently are stuck waiting for the same fixes to make it into 26.04, while 26.04 still seems to be frozen. Please wait ![]()
OK. Thank you for the info.
As a general rule of thumb, it is best to wait 4-6 weeks after release for major bug fixes, stability issues etc. to be ironed out.
This is not a hard and fast rule, but based on my own experience.
Therefore, asking every day or couple of days seems kind of pointless to me.
If you want stability, stick with the LTS releases rather than jumping on interim ones like 25.10.
The rule of thumb is to wait until the first point release which for 24.04 is 24.04.1
Also I second what Rubi said for stability you need to stick to the LTS version and use only the other versions for testing.
