Problem Description:
For some time my updates fail, with the Software Updater error message “Failed to download repository , check internet”
Snaps seem to be OK. My internet seems fine - everything else is downloading OK such as email and websites.
What I’ve Tried:
I’ve looked at settings which seem OK, but every time the update notification appears (which is nowhere near as often as it used to) the list of items to be update grows longer, and I get the error message.

Having a repository that does not have a release file will not stop us from updating/upgrading. If you run those two commands again and this time type y or yes then the operating system will update and Ubuntu 24.04.2 will progress to Ubuntu 24.04.4.
As you are on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS you can open Software & Updates>Other Software and uncheck the michael-gruz PPA and even remove it. Then the error message will disappear.
That Personal Package Archive (PPA) is no longer maintained. It was last modified 21/07/2024. So, it is not set up for releases of Ubuntu after Maverick.
Sorry for delay I’ve been away. That PPA was just for my Canon printer/scanner which I hardly use now. Those updates have gone through and I’m now on 24.04.4 so thanks to you both for that.
