Plymouth git has recently merged support for tiled displays.
Currently on Ubuntu I get double plymouth on my tiled monitor.
Can Ubuntu update its Plymouth to add in this support?

stonking is post-beta & most freezes are already in effect.
This likely can not happen until *tt or the next cycle; given Ubuntu is following a stable release model.
ok, but will it happen? is this the best place to request it.
from what i can see ubuntu plymouth is not updated often. it seems to be tracking mainstream plymouth from Aug 2025.

Quickly looking at changelog, I see Canonical/Ubuntu emails (which doesnât mean the changes werenât pushed thru sid anyway; but I donât see it)
stonking will release as Ubuntu 26.10 later this month, so work on tt will start after that, so late in the month maybe.
A request to update plymouth could always be made as a bug report if you highlight it as a feature [update] request giving details. Just donât forget you can often achieve more with âhoneyâ compared to âvinegarâ.
Personally Iâd see if you get a developer response here first, and in time (esp. after Ubuntu 26.10 releases as that is the current focus!) you can file a bug report, and then cause this âthreadâ to jump to the top by adding a reply with link to that bug report.
This feature/fix is already in progress: Bug #2167376 âPlymouth doesn't handle tiled displays properlyâ : Bugs : plymouth package : Ubuntu
