For several weeks now, daily attempts to run updates stalls in the middle of downloading update files. Error message each time it stalls:
Package failed to install:
Error while installing package: installed linux-image-6.17.0-29-generic package post-removal script subprocess returned error exit status 127.

Though I began my digital life formatting data on punch cards, then writing BASIC programs for HP desktop systems (with cassette tape memory), and then fine tuning AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS boot files for our DOS PCs, I am new to Linux and Ubuntu (and enjoying it). This line is wrong, everything after the equal sign needs to be between the quotes, any stuff that comes afterwards is considered a syntax error, move the i915 options (or simply move the second quote sign to the end of the line).
Once you update the file as explained, run:
sudo update-grub
If this is smooth then rerun the
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
Should be OK
