Even if you submitted for the wallpaper competition for Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 LTS, you’re welcome to submit here. However, if you won there, you’ll be disqualified here. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enter!
Just note that our colors tend to be blue/gray as opposed to orange/aubergine, so some of those wallpapers won’t work 1:1, so keep that in mind.

The submission window lasted for nearly a month.
We will not be doing another wallpaper competition until the next LTS release for Ubuntu Studio.
Hi, when is that competition expected? 2026?
Also, are there any side-efforts for contributing wallpapers off-cycle or outside of Ubuntu?

This competition ended in April, and the selected wallpapers are already out in the Ubuntu Studio ISO.
I’m not aware of any off-cycle channel for this kind of work. So I’d work on ideas for the upcoming 24.10 Oracular Oriole (which is also the 20th Anniversary of Ubuntu, so it’s an important release).
But this doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do or no way to contribute in the intervening months.
For example, @eylul from Ubuntu Studio made the following proposal for an Ubuntu Flavors Design Squad: Proposal: Ubuntu Flavors Design Squad
And @anasereijo1 from Canonical launched the following survey: “Let’s Talk Open Design”: Let’s talk open design
So, plenty of things to keep visual artists and designers busy.
