It is important to note that the Governance Sync Meetings have a clear goal to encourage communication and collaboration between various Ubuntu Governance bodies. The sync meetings are not created to gatekeep information, nor as a replacement for proper, established governance processes, voting and decision making.

Round table governance

  • Representatives of the Membership Board reported that there have been no new members requests lately. Most of the meeting time was taken by this topic:
    • Application process should be made less intimidating and more modern. Keeping the process in Discourse makes sense for user experience, since the application is made there. The Membership board is keen to make improvements.
    • More promotion of what Ubuntu membership means, how to get it, and explain the perks.
    • Potentially identify current members at events to easily start conversations and encourage questions around Ubuntu Membership.
    • Display clearer qr-codes, digital reel, and other assets, to spotlight membership and programs related to those.
