When viewing some websites (I use FireFox) Ubuntu abruptly powers off. There is not warning and no dump file is written. When I reboot the system file system errors are reported and fixed. This only happens on some websites. When I view the same website using Firefox on a Window11 PC the system does not complain or crash.

Any ideas of suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello fchaffin,

A good place to start would be:

  1. check the syslog files under /var/log folder
  2. dmesg log files in /var/log folder
  3. worth also checking the historical system journal logs

Are the websites you are visiting, having any DRM content being streamed?

Have you tried other browsers or apps to see if they cause the issue? Have you checked your power supply?
