@tobhe I have a Raxda Orion-O6. I am also using one USB-C from my hub that provides power and display to my HDMI monitor. I am also experiencing the display problem; however, if I leave the system until it sleeps, the display works on resume/wake. FYI, firmware 1.2.3 loaded (version 1.3.1 is flakey).

It’s not explicitly listed in the original post as it’s a more recent release, but just to confirm, the Orange Pi 6 works just fine with this image too, and I did extensive benchmarking on it just to check that can be viewed at https://sbc.compare/136-orange-pi-6-16gb?runs=136:457 if at all interesting to anyone! You can compare performance against Orange Pi’s own image for the board, or over 100 others.

Looks like you are using a AMD dedicated GPU, is that right? I have not tried that combination before but that is worth investigating.
True, I have a dedicated AMD GPU card in that PC. I can try removing it and trying to boot/install. But ultimately I would love to use the discrete gfx card.
With the regular arm64 image i get a different error. I wonder if this is also related to discrete GPU.
Update: removing the Radeon card allowed Ubuntu image to boot successfully. Testing with CIX image now, but I suspect the result will be the same.
Update: successfully installed and ran CIX ubuntu-concept without the Radeon board; runs really fast and smooth!

With amdgpu enabled the kernel crashes with oom. I will try GPU aperture fixes that LLMs suggest in a bit and report if it helps. So far just module_blacklist=amdgpu.
