Ubuntu Concept 26.10 Snapdragon Edition

@tobhe So what’s the way to install the necessary drivers on unsupported devices? On A16, the `qcom-firmware-extract` gives “Device is currently not supported”.

Better yet, when can we expect those drivers to be bundled in? Some time next year?

Finally the audio is working now, and it is actually fairly easy.

First you run the latest debian qcom-firmware-extractor. Second this other script (don’t forget to then do the manual copy of the tplg.bin file). Last but not least:

git clone https://github.com/quic-kdybcio/alsa-ucm-conf --branch=topic/zenbooka16
cd alsa-ucm-conf/ucm2/Qualcomm/glymur
sudo cp *.conf /usr/share/alsa/ucm2/Qualcomm/glymur

As for the wifi, I can confirm that the problem (4WAY_HANDSHAKE_TIMEOUT that seems like you entered the wrong password) is caused by wifi 7. If you just force wifi ax at most, it connects immediately.

I have the A16 updated on the latest Linux-next.

Working:

  1. Keyboard/Trackpad

  2. Touchscreen

  3. Wifi

  4. Bluetooth (using for Audio)

  5. All USB ports

  6. Battery status

  7. Some of the FN keys are at least showing up on the screen when pressed.

  8. Display Brightness controls,

  9. Display: 60/120Hz

  10. HDMI (no sound)

  11. USB C DP on both ports

  12. Battery isn’t horrible. I’m seeing 5-8 hours, but I’ve been doing a lot of work I wouldn’t normally do. I’ll run it for a few days and see where it settles.

  13. Standby/Resume, but something is using around 2.5 watts and draining battery.

  14. Audio, thanks to the other patch posted.

Things not working.

Camera

I don’t know if anyone can test this on their A16. Github (Hopefully this doesn’t get flagged for “promoting”)

So I’m having a major audio regression with the new kernel on my yoga slim 7x. Tried solving it with a clanker but no good. Here it the output what is exactly happening.

Yoga Slim 7x audio breaks when opening GNOME Sound settings

Hardware: Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x (X1E80100)
OS: Ubuntu 26.10
Kernel: 7.3.0-15-qcom-x1e

After plugging in an external speaker, the audio system became unstable. Opening Settings → Sound causes the output to flicker continuously between Internal Speaker and Dummy Output. GNOME mute/volume controls also stop affecting the actual hardware.

A reboot temporarily restores normal playback, but opening the Sound settings triggers the problem again.

Kernel logs then show repeated Qualcomm audio errors:

q6apm-lpass-dais: Failed to start APM port 110
ASoC error (-22): ... VA_CODEC_DMA_TX_0
MultiMedia4 Capture: ASoC error (-22)
DSP returned error[1001002]

WirePlumber also repeatedly reports audio nodes being destroyed and recreated.

The ALSA card itself is detected correctly, and PipeWire sees the Yoga's HiFi profile with both speaker and internal microphone.

This seems related to the Qualcomm SoundWire/WSA884x capture path being triggered when GNOME Sound settings accesses the audio device.

Apologies again for the ai text but I think it gives the important bits of info.

X1E] Lenovo IdeaCentre Mini 01Q8X10 (91B6000WGF, X1-26-100): wrong DTB, boot fails

Concept 26.10 ISO from USB. The machine hard-resets as soon as udev starts. With module_blacklist=qcom_q6v5_pas,msm,ath12k,ath12k_pci,qcom_pd_mapper,snd_soc_x1e80100 the reset is gone, but the boot hangs: qcom_scm can’t get its interconnect path, TLMM pinctrl never probes, and geni_se_qup is missing its m-ahb clock. The SoC is the X1-26-100 (Purwa). The 91B6 family also ships with the X1P-64-100 (Hamoa) under identical SMBIOS strings, so I suspect stubble selects the Hamoa DTB.

SMBIOS: LENOVO / 91B6000WGF / IdeaCentre Mini 01Q8X10, board 3796, BIOS O6NKT49A

I can supply a script that creates a working kernel and dts here:
